AKA THE WOW

Warren “Wow” Jones is a former AFL ruckman best known for his commanding presence on the field and his role in Carlton’s 1982 Premiership side.

Born in New Zealand and raised in Queensland, Warren began his football journey with Morningside Football Club before being recruited to the Victorian Football League. Standing at 200 cm tall, his size, strength and fearless approach made him a force in the ruck.

Warren played 92 games for Carlton between 1978 and 1985, before moving to St Kilda, where he added another 31 games to his career.

After football, Warren transitioned into business and finance, gaining a commercial helicopter licence and holding various management and leadership roles. Drawing on the same grit that defined his playing career, he’s built a reputation for his practical insights, grounded leadership and ability to adapt beyond sport.

Scotty sat down to chat everything from football to finance and the journey Warren has been on to get where he is today.
